A perfect bridal car.
1936 Rolls Royce 20/25
Commissioned in 1935 for a Miss Radcliffe-Platt of Belgrave Sq, London, due to unforeseen circumstances the order was cancelled and its first owner was Mr W Croneen, the owner of the Plaza Cinema in Gillingham, Kent. In 1946 the ownership passed to his son.
In 1968 the car was stored with a Rolls Royce Silver Cloud in the then unused Plaza Cinema building until 2002 when it was rediscovered and re-commissioned with the genuine mileage of 86,000.
CLR 397 was then purchased in March 2003 by the last owner Mr C Walls who instructed a complete engine overhaul along with extensive other restoration works.
This car recently won an award with the Rolls Royce Enthusiasts Club for its originality and following a loving restoration she is now a very reliable and beautiful example of the 20/25 model.
At Aphrodite we see ourselves not as the new owners of this splendid Motor Car but mere custodians for a future generation to enjoy her pre-war charm and splendour. See Events Gallery for further photographic history.
